On 31st of August (Wednesday) from 15:00 - 16:00 p.m. a presentation about Japanese incense will be held in Sugihara House (Vaižganto g. 30, Kaunas). The presentation is in the commemoration of the 25 years anniversary of the new diplomatic relations between Japan and Lithuania. An incense art master from Oie-ryu school Joko Obata will present this art form for the first time in Lithuania.
In the Heian period, Japan (794 – 1185) the nobles used incense not only in rooms, but also perfumed kimonos with it. Traditionally, the incense art called Kōdō (香道, "Way of Fragrance") developed greatly in 15th century. We invite you not to miss this unique opportunity and take a delight in an invisible world of elegance created by the incense.
Due to the limited number of seats, the first 20 registrants will be able to participate in this event. To enter this event, please register via e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org, a letter stating that you wish to participate in the lecture in Kaunas, which will be held on August 31st, as well as the participant's full name, age, phone number and e-mail.
