It has been 75 years since Japanese Consul Chiune Sugihara in the summer of 1940 issued transit visas for the Jewish refugees in Lithuania, who were running away from the Second World War and therefore Chiune Sugihara rescued thousands of people. Notably Chiune Sugihara is the only Japanese person to receive The Righteous among the Nations Honor by Yad Vashem.

The main purpose of the project is to preserve the memory and work of Chiune Sugihara and to discuss and analyze the positive deeds of historical figures in school. The teachers from the Education of Tolerance Centers are going to teach the scholars about Chiune Sugihara and his work in 1940. Scholars are receiving classes on diplomat‘s personality, life and work. The students are visiting Sugihara Museum as well.

By the beginning of November, four schools have already visited the museum.
