The building of the Japanese Consulate (1939-1940) in Kaunas.
The house was built by a famous scientist, the Ex-Minister of Education of Lithuania Prof. Juozas Tonkūnas. He himself did not reside in this house because he received an offer to work in an experimental pavilion of agriculture where he was provided with accommodation. The Tonkūnas family was also affected by the Soviet repressions. His family (his wife, son and daughter) and himself were exiled to Siberia.
