Highlights from the conference on civil courage and humanity

On 23-24 October 2024, Kaunas, the Ąžuolynas Library and Vilnius, the Lithuanian Museum of Jewish Culture and Identity hosted exclusive conferences organised by the Swedish Institute and the Sugihara House Museum on the theme of Ch. Sugihara, J. Zwartendijk and R. Wallenberg.
The event was presented by Swedish professor and historian Bengt Jangferldt, Japanese PhD student Hikaru Bun from the University of Heidelberg, and Arlette Stuip, granddaughter of survivor Abraham Liwer, from the Netherlands. The speakers' stories will be accompanied by klezmer musician Semmy Stahlhammer.
